The eight little gages which were the sole greengage harvest I stewed up with a little water into a hot sauce.
I ate this, poured onto vanilla ice cream.
Delicious.

Totally with you on the joy of eating your own grown fruit! Our fig tres here in Umbria have thrown their first harvest and we have had daily green figs. The dark fig is not doing so well...better next year I hope. The other fruit trees need more time.
